The world finally hears Kasim Allah for the first time when Baby Grande Records released Lord Jamar's "5% Album". Kasim featured on the opening track "Original Man", a song which also highlights Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan. Then still wearing his poetry hat, Kasim's verse on Original Man comes across more like a poem seamlessly woven into the beat rather than 16 bars. This collaboration would eventually lead to the 2013 Kasim Allah x Brand Nubian record entitled "Jive Pretenders"; a song that addressed the exploitation of the 5% national emblem known as the Universal Flag of Islam by the likes of hip hop icons Jay-Z & Jay Electronica. Jive Pretenders appeared on Kasim's 2013 release Living Mathematics on his own record label (Sandy's House Entertainment), his first album in over a decade.
